LOOKING AT THIS FIGHT MORE, I REALIZE THAT FORREST GRIFFIN HAS A GREAT CHANCE OF WINNING THIS FIGHT. HIS HIGHT CAN BE THE DECIDING FACTOR. IF HE USES MORE OF A DEFENSE STRIKING STYLE AGAINST RAMPAGE, LIKE THROWING JABS TO KEEP THE DISTANCE, MAYBE SOME KICKS. FORREST SHOULD HAVE THE BETTER CHANCE WITH GETTING TAKE DOWNS AS WELL AS STOPPING THEM. I DON’T SEE RAMPAGE EVER SLAMMING HIM. FORREST SHOULD ALSO BE HEAVIER ON TOP IF THEY’RE ON THE GROUND. WHATEVER FORREST CAN DO TO WIN, HE WILL DO IT. BOTH WILL HAVE GREAT CARDIO. IF RAMPAGE GETS TOP POSITION, THEN IT WILL BE HARD FOR FOREST TO GET OFF. WITH FORREST’S HIGHT, I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED TO SEE HIM DO A THAI CLINCH ON RAMPAGE. THAT WOULD BE IRONIC AS HELL. THE ONLY WAY I SEE RAMPAGE WINNING IS BY KNOCK OUT, WHICH IS MORE THAN POSSIBLE. WITH THE WAY THAT THEY MATCH UP, I THINK IT WILL BE HARDER FOR RAMPAGE TO WIN THEN FORREST. I DIDN’T THINK I’D SAY IT, BUT RIGHT NOW, I WOULD GIVE THE ADVANTAGE TO FORREST GRIFFIN. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS FIGHT? |

I put my thoughts on this fight in an earlier thread. I like Forrest’s chances here if he fights smart and doesn’t make any mistakes. You will see Forrest implement a Thai clinch with Rampage. He has been working on his Muay Thai for some time now, and the plung is Rampage’s achilles heel. Forrest isn’t super heavy on top by nature, he does GnP, but prefers to work position to create a scramble. He will definately have the advantage on the ground, I think with his height and Limb length he will most likely be able to sweep Page and work a scramble to better his position. Forrest’s transition work is very impressive. I think forrest could very well find himself on the receiving end of a slam though if he gets sloppy in the clinch. Rampage has a good greco/freestyle clinch game. He just falls short in a Thai clinch while receiving knees constantly (hard to set up a scoop slam if there is a knee constantly coming upwards). Forrest will need to keep his composure to win this fight tho. Rampage always brings the A game, and he will be as aggressive as ever. Forrest will have to make Rampage work hard for points, wear him down, and look to Sub or Pound Page out in the later rounds, when Forrest is strongest. Early on it will be all Page tho, he will need to weather the storm to come out on top. |

Rampage by decision or Griffin by RNC, either way it’s going to be one great fight |
