WHO DO YOU THINK WINS THIS FIGHT?

vera wins imo. i guess that would be an upset but i’ve never been particularly impressed by werdum. he’s had a few good wins but his striking is way below standard, despite being improved. his submissions are very good, of course, but if vera doesn’t get subbed i don’t see any other way werdum can beat him. vera has enough ground game not to let this happen and will get the dec imo.

Vera will get the better of Werdum on the ground. I don’t think Werdum can take Vera down, and Vera will probably be on top when it comes to the mat. He will be able to smother him there, and force a standup. I see Werdum getting worn out after losing in the standup.

Vera could finish it in the third if Werdum gets tired and Vera stays strong late with good strikes.

Well I have to say that even though Werdum is a grappling savant in grappling competitions, he has not transitioned that very well to top level MMA. Lots of pure Jitz guys have problems doing what they do when they are getting GnP’d by guys with good sub defense and a mastery of the cage environment. If Werdum is able to sub Vera, it will signal that he will be a good MMA Jitz player, but Vera is not slouch on the ground, and has had a good transition all around in his game. I hope the fight is a good one, and not a repeat of Werdum v. AA, or Vera v. Sylvia, bleh.

The reason why I’m rooting for Werdum is that I’ve been a fan since long ago.
To me Werdum is the best BJJ guy outthere (there’s loads of others that I’m aware of), I like his BJJ-game.

Vera on the other hand is no walk in the park… if he wins I’ll not be shocked.
When I saw the fight Vera vs. Sylvia I was mad angry, I swear if Sylvia was in the same size as Vera it would’ve been an early nap for Sylvia.

Werdum is not a superb striker, though he can throw heavy bombs.
Though he’s physically very strong and believe me, he is going to take Vera down… for Veras sake I hope he have paid attention to his BJJ-defense and trained hard, Werdum like’s to be on the back too.

Well I think I kissed Werdums behind a little to much…
