What’d you guys think of Matt Hughes’ decision to hand out Bibles to his guys and ask them to read the story of Esther?

i like when the guy asked his dudes t o tell him who he was in the book, and somebody said “you’re god, right?”. then he calls himself a queen, i don’t know. im glad no one on his team took it as Hughes forcing his religion on people. i like hlow his team handled it, looked at it like it was just a book and read it

I laugh when he does that but then 10 minutes later we see him imitating stuff from “Borat” but his kids can’t watch TV if Matt Serra is on. I think Hughes is very full of himself. Handing out Bibles? give me a break.

No guts, no glory.

I am not a big Hughes fan, but it was not a big deal. He was teaching the guys a lesson through a story in a book. The book happened to be the Bible, but he was not pushing religion on them. There are actually a lot of good lessons in the Bible that could be taught without relating it to any particular faith.

i have to agree with bmckenzie, matt hughes was trying to teach them in his own way where he’s coming from(since he is the coach!),i can understand why he did it.in a sense it would explain his tough love attitude towards things. im not really a matt hughes fan as much as some people might be,but somehow i do feel that he will win against GSP on this upcoming UFC event, somehow i feel matt hughes wants it more, you know?,,well anyways thats what i think. laters!

Making everyone join together to hold hands in prayer is right on the line of pushing it imo – but I have to agree, they all took it in stride and it was no big deal :)

considering how anal hughes was about, some pretty inexperienced fighters, training and fighting habits i would say it was way over the line.

(since he is the coach!)

not just the coach, the queen! lol. how would we feel if he suggested they read something relevant to the muslim faith? it isn’t for everyone and highly inappropriate imo.
