i thought the bjj black belt looked impressive in his first fight. matt brown seems well respected but it’s hard to say right now.

I remember watching Amir Sadollah back in Virginia at the Combat Sports Challenge, these small shows that they’d hold that would be like 3 muay thai fights, a submission grappling superfight, and a few sloppy MMA fights. Amir was a nice guy back then and still is, so it’s nice to see him do well.

is that right caleb! i’ve been impressed by amir from the word go (on the show that is). his reservedness never struck me as a lack of confidence or ability. i had hoped he would do well early on but i never picked him to beat cb. to be quite honest i think it’s an injustice that he has to fight cb again.
he is a guy i can really relate to on the show and i think most would agree he contributed significantly to one of the best episodes of tuf ever televised. that being the last one.
like JEET says, win or lose in the final this guy something else man.

i also wish all the best to jessy who screwed up majorly. most of us have done at some point in our lives but he pays a particularly high price for his blunder.

From the very beginning I was picking CB to win it all, but I did also say after watching and listen to Amir Sadollah that he was in terms of personality essentially Forrest Griffin at the 185 pound weight class. His skills are a bit different, but his heart is an exact replica of Griffin’s never say die type attitude. I’m hoping to see CB stay around in the UFC, and I’m hoping that Amir continues to excell and improve to becoming a force to be reckoned with at 185. Hey, maybe one day he’ll be good enough to fight against Anderson Silva for the belt and the two of them can put on one hell of a show.
